GDPR
As new laws and regulations come into effect, our team at ICW is working to stay ahead of the curve, while delivering the best service. Here’s a few things we think are important to know when it comes to GDPR
GDPR: What You Need to Know
GDPR stands for the European Union General Data Protection Regulation which came into full effect on May 25th, 2018. The aim of the GDPR is to improve data protection and increase privacy for all citizens of the European Union (EU). This means that it impacts any company that handles or stores personal data within the EU- including ICW.
How does this affect ICW?
ICW is fully GDPR compliant and has taken the needed steps to protect our users’ personal data. We are also committed to making sure that our users understand how their personal data is used and stored.
How does this affect me?
ICW ensures that all the personal data that we collect from you is kept safe and anonymous. This personal data includes:
- User information (first name, last name, company, email, phone number, encrypted password)
- Recordings and call metadata (e.g. numbers, duration, quality)
- Company information (name, billing address, phone numbers, users, and teams
We secure this data by encrypting all personal information, ensure password rotation, and restrict access to critical components of our infrastructure. As an added security measure, we organize external audits and penetration tests of our systems.
Lastly, ICW does not keep your personal data forever. Your personal data will be deleted automatically after one year of inactivity- or anytime you request.
What do we use the data for?
Before ICW collects any data, we make sure that all users have consented to the process. ICW makes sure that you are informed that we are collecting, storing and using the data in our products. We also let you know exactly what kind of data we process and what it’s used for including:
- Routing and distributing calls
- Computing analytics on calls activity
- Integrating third-party CRM (on customer’s choice)
- Billing
- Logs storing & processing
Our Partners and Subcontractors
Before we work with any partners and subcontractors, ICW checks to make sure that they are all GDPR compliant. For extra transparency, we also list all the subcontractors that we work with, why we work with them, and what data they transfer or process.
Do you have any legal documents concerning GDPR?
Absolutely! We have a Data Processing Agreement that can be sent to you electronically upon your request. If you need this document for your business, feel free to contact: businessteam@icommunicate.world.
Lastly, we have recently updated our Privacy Policy & Terms of Service to include more details on user information, storage, data breach, and provider’s compliance.
If you have any questions or would like more information about how GDPR affects you or your company, feel free to send us an email at businessteam@icommunicate.world and our team will be happy to answer any of your questions.
